9:58 am - Update on Car Shopping
|
We went test driving yesterday. We got to the Nissan dealership about an hour before closing (who closes at 3pm on a Saturday?!) and test drove the Rogue (crossover SUV) and Versa. Then we hopped over to Honda and tried the CRV and Civic LX. Finally we ended the day with the Toyota Rav4 Limited. Honda was the only one who took a copy of my DL and Toyota had the guy ride with us (ugh!). Interesting way they are handling test drives now. Here's what my thoughts are on each.

I also want to find a Kia dealership and try a Sorento and Soul. And I'd like to find a VW dealership and see what they have to offer. Again, anyone with any experience, or if you have a cousin that works for a dealership, if you've any info on these cars, please please PLEASE tell me! :) I'm going to go get a shower now, time to "start" the day. Yeah I dunno what we're doing, but I hope we go out somplace, maybe walk the trail or something. We have to mow, I know that much. Ciao.

9:55 am - 2 a.m.
|
2am is NOT a good time to be woken up. 11pm isn't so bad, but 2am isn't good. At 11pm, the neighbors were outside drunk off their asses, spinning around the backyard screaming "I'm not drunk! I feel great!" and it was annoying but kinda funny coz we had just gotten to bed. Well later, I was dreaming about a dog in a truck barking. The sound switched to someone crying, and just about that time I woke up to hear the neighbor girl bawling her eyes out. She couldn't talk she was crying so hard and bad. I got up to pee and listened for a few minutes, learned the couple's names (except for the ex-girlfriend's name) and went back to bed since I thought they were going back inside. Nope, they stayed. So about 10 minutes after it started I called the cops. I'm trying to sleep and they have an apartment they can be fighting in. Plus, I don't know why she's crying--could be serious (like he tried to rape her or something). So it took about a 5 min conversation with the cops, I gave them the names I knew and what I knew of the overall situation. Not 5 mins after I called, they showed up. Not too bad response time I guess. Derek was up and he listened to what was going on over there and another 5 mins went by and the cops left and the neighbors quieted down. But talk about ANNOYING.... omg. Hopefully we won't have to worry about it again. We finally got back to sleep and I woke up and turned my alarm off. *lol*
Got another update for ya coming... we went test driving yesterday. Oh, did I mention that my MIL is staying with us for a few weeks? I'll have to look back in my posts. Ciao.

|
What an awful nightmare I had last night. I've been on Neopets since 2000. I've YET to get the Snowager avatar. I dreamt I got the avatar on my SIDE account. I don't know which is worse... dreaming about Neopets or dreaming I got that avatar on the wrong account.

7:58 pm - Half Car Shopping
|
You know the economy sucks when car dealerships are closed on Sundays.... since when did that happen?? Lol, it's been a long time since we've been really car shopping. But, since my car will die within the next, like, 2 years... I gotta get a feel for what's out there. Unfortunately, the cost is going to suck, too... but I'm definitely not above buying used. So here's what we decided to try and test drive (probably next Saturday when we can hit them all at once)....

If anyone has any personal opinions/experience on any of these cars, PLEASE tell me!! I'm in the research phase now, but it's better for me to be interested in several cars than just one and be too disappointed to look at others. Gonna go watch tv now. Hopefully this week will be uplifting coz right now I'm feeling a little down-in-the-dumps. Just finances getting to me, thinking we'll never get ahead and be able to afford anything--including a baby. And boy are we ready for one, just not in the wallet. *sigh* Okay enough being "blah" I'll stop here. Ciao.

6:52 am - What a Miserable Night
|
Last night was awful. Just all around. I was tossing and turning from hot/cold/hot/cold. I put the fan in the window (wasn't in there previously) around 2am and promptly froze. It wasn't even that cold out! I had to pee like 3 times. I was nauseous then it gradually turned to hunger. And I think I spent about an hour itching my legs... one spot in particular. Damned mosquitoes. Why were they ever made?! I think I counted 11 bites on my left leg and 13 on my right leg. I think I've lost about a pint of blood to those fuckers. And to top it all off... nightmares. Oh, in the worst way.

So that's what kept me up all night. I really need to find something to take before bed, but I did have a cherry-vanilla waffle cone that i finished at about 9p and we went to bed at like 1045p.... so *shrug* maybe I shouldn't get that flavor anymore? Heh. Well, I'm gonna go see if I can't get these nightmares out of my brain--wtf is up with my subconsious?! Ciao.

9:46 am - 2 Year Anniversary Dinner
|
Last night Derek and I went out for our 2 year anniversary dinner. It took a while to decide where we wanted to go because of Lamotte's not answering their phone (we figured maybe they're closed which is weird). Finally, we decided to try a new place we've never been to. We went to the White Rose Bar & Grill in York, PA. Overall, we give it a B. The service was quick, but we waited like 10 minutes for the check. The food was good, but the bacon-wrapped scallops... I've had a LOT better (and I've had worse). The salad was pre-made and refridgerated since the dressing was like one solid lump. But the crab cakes were totally awesome, and the cream of crab soup was really good, too. The red skin mashed potatoes... they tasted old. Derek's filet mignon was good, but charbroiled so all you could taste was the char. Tender, though. So, yeah, overall a B.

I just wanted to share these accomplishments. I looked back to when Derek and I started the whole weight-loss "program" we have going. Since the middle of November 2008, I've lost 14 pounds just by eating less and better, and starting exercising at the gym since Feb when I got my job with the City. *beams* Yay me! I'm also in a size L (spandex) dress, from almost a 2XL not spandex. *bigger beam* Yay again! AND..... what really got me happy today.... I actually had to wear a BELT to work! Like not just an accent, as in if I didn't my pants were going to fall off. *jumps up and down ecstatically* WHOO! So, when I look *good* in my new birthday dress (the one referenced above), I'll certainly share pix. But that's what I have to be proud of. :)
Oh, I wanted to add what my workout routine is....

Does it make sense? I do #reps on #weight (A) then the next #reps on #weight (B) etc. That's also the order I do them in. The weights I do at lunch and the T/Th elliptical I do after work with Derek. Okay, I'm going to see how this turns out. Ciao.

Long story short (because I don't have much time) I had a dream last night involving children again. Ours was named Tyler and my ex's was named Austin. Austin was a small, wirey, blonde child. Tyler was a brown-haired boy, also small, but older. we ended up introducing them to each other, but they kind of already knew each other because they were at the same day-care facility. Weird. Thought I'd share, coz I remember the names. Oh, and my ex was driving a white van with "Mike's" something service on the front, and we were in Derek's Cavalier. I think Tyler (name) came from working with the one program at work. we just got a new version and the company name is really prevalant--TYLER. Lol. Gotta go finish getting ready for our tours today! *blush* I'm down to a size L from a size XL almost XXL... especially in dresses. I was getting to an 18W, but I think a L is considered, what, 14-16? That makes me happy. :) So I'll show you what I got myself for my 24th bday gift from my mom ($50 to Kohl's).

I got nice earrings that Derek picked out. The dress was on sale $64 down to $44.80 and the earrings were $12 down to $8.04. Not bad I thought! So now I'm going to change it up a bit and go to the gym every day for lunch and just do weights instead of walking up the street and back. The weights might do more for me if I focus on my triceps and abs. Wish me luck! Ciao.
