Half Car Shopping

You know the economy sucks when car dealerships are closed on Sundays.... since when did that happen?? Lol, it's been a long time since we've been really car shopping.  But, since my car will die within the next, like, 2 years... I gotta get a feel for what's out there.  Unfortunately, the cost is going to suck, too... but I'm definitely not above buying used.  So here's what we decided to try and test drive (probably next Saturday when we can hit them all at once)....

Nissan Rogue

This one's totally different from what I'm used to. It's a small SUV-style vehicle, but it's got space inside.  And we are going to need a vehicle with space for a family.  It just sucks there's not a whole hell of a lot of trunk space. But it's a smaller-sized truck-style vehicle.

Nissan Versa

A small vehicle like I'm used to, but I'm not sure if there's going to be enough room for a family. Trunk space was minimal on this one, too, but it's a small car like I'm used to (as stated previously lol).  But the only downfall is the fact that it's a small car that might be too small.

Nissan Sentra

This is a car I've looked at previously, but I'm not too keen on Nissans (just never really got me excited). It might be too "wide" of a car for me, but I'm not sure til I drive it. I'm really weird when it comes to cars, I know. But I'd also like to see inside the trunk so I know what I'm looking at.  My dad's Corolla has GREAT trunk space and I've driven it before... but it wasn't like "my" perfect car, ya know? So I'll at least test drive the Sentra and see what it's like.

Honda CR-V

I've always had a fondness for the CR-V from when Daddy was with Doug. It's a nice vehicle and it's got great space inside.  Only problem is the price, and I'm not sure if it's too "big" for me. I'm not used to a larger vehicle and it might not drive right for me.  But I'm definitely interested in test driving it.

Honda Civic (and Hybrid)

Everyone's got a dream car. The Honda Civic is mine. Don't ask why, it's just the car that's always appealed to me. And when it came out in a Hybrid version, it'd be really nice for me since I have really bad traffic on my way to/from work every day.  And Derek drives on the weekends, so I don't need to worry about that. I am looking forward to this test drive--but then again what if I hate it? I hated the Jeep Wrangler I thought I wanted when I test drove that.... but *shrug* at least it'll open me up to what it's really like to drive and not just look at.

Mazda 3

I'm not too keen on Mazdas but Derek wants me to give the 3 a shot.  The 6 is too sporty for me, but the 3 has surprisingly a lot of room. Again, I'd like to check out the trunk space, but we'll see what the test drive brings.

Toyota Rav4

Another vehicle I've been interested in, ever since our one high school teacher had one. Of course it's a bit bigger than hers is (a 90s model I believe), but I'm still interested in test driving it. The trunk space is awesome, and it's not too awful large of a vehicle, but it's another one I'll have to test drive to see how it handles.

If anyone has any personal opinions/experience on any of these cars, PLEASE tell me!! I'm in the research phase now, but it's better for me to be interested in several cars than just one and be too disappointed to look at others.  Gonna go watch tv now. Hopefully this week will be uplifting coz right now I'm feeling a little down-in-the-dumps. Just finances getting to me, thinking we'll never get ahead and be able to afford anything--including a baby. And boy are we ready for one, just not in the wallet. *sigh* Okay enough being "blah" I'll stop here.  Ciao.
